Automated Mario Makes a Melodious Masterpiece

I'd recommend that everyone take the opportunity to watch this video during their lifetime.  In honor of Mario's 25th, please enjoy the next eleven minutes of your life.

This is certainly not the first time someone has hacked a Super Mario World ROM file before.  It's not even the first time someone has made an automated level, but the sheer effort that went into creating this denotes not only a true fan, but Mario's impact on the world.  The level uses several custom features which can be added with the Lunar Magic Super Mario World ROM editor, including the polka-dotted blocks that make you jump and invisible points that make Mario run fast.  You can even set any linear portion of the level to behave like icy terrain.

Lunar Magic primarily uses a WYSIWYG interface, but for a project like this, knowledge of hex coding (and probably a lot more) is a must.  Anyway, this video was created for, posted on, and influenced by the Nico Nico Douga video sharing website.  The songs in the track are just a few of which are popular there.  You may even hear a tune you recognize ;)

Equally impressive is the non-lyricized version listed in the related videos.
Equally frightening is the non-Mario version here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cepXLReu1aU

I'm seriously trying to find out who made this but I'm not patient enough to chew through all the Japanese :(
I'm sorry.
